2 Extra Hours in Traffic Jams

I am deeply concerned about the reckless proposal from the BC NDP Government’s Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure (MOTI) to modify traffic flow eastbound on Main Street. This plan is being pushed through without proper consultation and against the wishes of our District of North Vancouver (DNV).

The proposed changes will eliminate the dedicated lane for local traffic heading into our riding, forcing North Vancouver-Seymour residents into congested traffic bound for the Second Narrows Bridge. This decision will lead to longer commutes and increased frustration for our community.

There are no two ways about this - we need a dedicated lane going into Seymour, period.

The real problem lies in our inadequate  bridge infrastructure, which is failing to meet our community’s needs. We need to invest in our transportation infrastructure to upgrade the Second Narrow bridge so that all communities can get enough on-ramp lanes to a wider bridge.

The BC NDP continues to address symptoms rather than tackling the root cause of our transportation issues. North Vancouver-Seymour deserves better and it’s time we demand accountability from David Eby and the BC NDP. This is just another example of overreach by the David Eby and BC NDP government as they try to ram through this decision in a top down fashion with practically no consultation from the people it affects most. This situation highlights the BC NDP’s overreach into our community, reflecting a troubling disregard for how their decisions affect local residents. And it’s clear that MLA Susie Chant has not been able to effectively advocate for the needs of North Vancouver – Seymour.

As your next North Vancouver-Seymour MLA, I will prioritize the needs of our community, advocating for solutions that address our transportation challenges and improve infrastructure for all residents. It’s time for us to pursue common-sense change that prioritizes your needs and fosters collaborative decision-making, ensuring your voices are heard in Victoria.
